List renumbers when table or object inserted due to default after embedded.
Cause:
When a table of embedded objects is inserted in a numbered list, by default Word restarts the numbering of the paragraph following the inserted table or object at 1.
Solution:
Insert a section break and select the numbered item following the embedded object. Type the number to start with in Bullets and Numbering.
1) Insert a section break.
a) Position the insertion point where the section is to begin.
b) Select 'Break...' from the 'Insert' menu.
c) Select the desired radio button in the 'Section Breaks' group.
d) Click 'OK'.
2) Select (click on) the numbered item following the table or embedded object.
3) Select 'Bullets and Numbering...' from the 'Format' menu.
4) Click the 'Numbering' tab.
5) Click 'Modify...'.
6) Type the number to start at in the 'Start at' box.
